Nikon cameras and sensors designed by Nikon made by Sony?

Why is everyone comparing Nikon cameras to Sony cameras?

Don’t they know Nikon is designing their sensor it’s only being made by Sony?

Why don’t they compare Hasselblad and Leica cameras to Kodak since Kodak is making sensors for them?
Edwin then why is the Pixel Density different Nikon D3X 2.8 MP/cm² and Sony A900 2.9 MP/cm²

What cameras do photographers use for vogue, harper’s bazaar, and other fashion magazines?

Okay, they use different cameras, but what are those do they use anyway, and what is the most common camera used by these photographers?

My guess for the most common is Canon EOS 1Ds mk II or Nikon D2xs.

My guess is that some still use Hasselblad film cameras.
And maybe some use a 22/31/39 megapixel backs.

Those are just my guess, though.

Do they use lower than 10 megapixel cameras? Because if you print a 10 MP image at 300ppi, it will print at about 12×8 inches, which is about the size of a magazine page.

I think the ppi resolution fashion magazines use 300ppi (less than that, say 200 or 100 ppi, then it’s kinda pixelated).
Am I right?

Pls. indicate if you’re a fashion magazine photographer.

Apollo Hasselblad cameras?

What made them so special that they could withstand cosmic radiation and the extreme temperature shifts between shadow and full sunlight while they were being used on the baldly exposed surface of the moon? I’ve read an interview with a Hasselblad spokesman where he mentions that although they were barely modified from the Earth bound versions, they each had a few coats of aluminum/silver paint (?)… but that doesn’t strike me as something which would offer a considerable degree of protection, or in fact virtually any protection whatsoever. Also it’s been stated by authorities that they used a “special emulsion” with the film… but as far as I can tell they’ve never ever said what—exactly—was so special about it.

So what was so special about it? Or is it a trade secret and therefore unavailable to the public? I just want a basic explanation that isn’t totally vague and useless in the vein of “Trust them, they’re experts.”

Why are Hasselblad cameras considered so good?

They are so expensive and have a bad frame rate, I read somewhere it was 1 shot for 6 seconds. Are they for use mainly in Architectural photos and studio work? Just wondering.

Do you think the Hasselblad cameras they left on the moon would still work today? How much would they be worth?

Hasselblad cameras were equipped with non-migratory lubricants as part of their EVA specifications. They were also protected with an anti-radiation outer coating. I bet they’d still work.

why are Hasselblad cameras so expensive?

I saw a website that has prices for SLR cameras. The expensive one that I saw is the Hasselblad H3DII-50 which cost about $37,000… Is it really worth it to buy one??? I mean There’s Nikon’s D3x or canon’s EOS 1Ds Mark III camera for your job’s demands. And besides, 37k is REALLY enough to buy all the stuff you need, PLUS you can even start a studio of your own with that money.
